The Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) was established by an act of Parliament in 1974 to oversee and promote sports in Malawi. It focuses on women in sport, professional and recreational sports, sports for people with disabilities, and anti-doping initiatives.
We are a professional, most efficient, and effective sports development catalytic organization, successfully providing progressive and quality sports services in Malawi.
We are a sports body entrusted with the responsibility to Manage, Control, Develop and Promote sport at all levels.
While the Board gives policy direction, the Secretariat is charged with operationalising policy and other day-to-day matters of the Council. The Secretariat is headed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Council and divided into five (5) main departments: the Chief Executive Officerβs Office, Sports and Recreation Development, Finance, Human Resources and Administration, and Marketing, Planning, and Infrastructure services.
